Now, here’s a popular recipe for success:

::  do what you’re supposed to do

::  live up to the shoulds + expectations of others

::  do everything perfectlyPlus Sign

::  don’t ever make a mistake

::  do the reasonable, logical, responsible thing

::  make sure everyone loves you + no-one ever says a bad thing about you

When things get tough

::  just push through

::  work harderEquals Sign

::  ignore the overwhelm, stress + exhaustion

::  always show you’re on top of things

::  never show things are getting tough

The perfect life!

::  a perpetual state of bliss

::  abundant confidence

::  never a worry, doubt or fear

::  no hurdles, setbacks or disapproval

::  every single person loving what you do + supporting you 100%

::  not a cloud in the sky

But somehow all the hard work

doing the right thing,

doesn’t seem to get the expected results.

Instead of bliss, you get this, right?

White arrow

::  dreading to get up in the morning

::  endless worry-loops + incessant overthinking

::  drowning in endless to do lists, always running behind, never done

::  feeling all over the place, indecisive + in a constant state of fear things will get out of control

::  having a hard time making decisions + second guessing yourself, even for the small things

::  skipping on sleep + sleeping restlessly

::  cutting all the fun stuff out of your calendar – the last time you really enjoyed yourself seemed ages away

::  eating unhealthy foods + feeling bad about yourself for doing that

::  canceling meet-ups with friends + feeling isolated and alone

::  plotting escape scenarios + feeling stuck and trapped

Yet, no-one would ever know!

Because you carefully cover up how you really feel behind a strong I got this! smile.

Sound familiar?  Is that what you’ve been cooking up?

No shame! I’ve been there.

And so many others are there too, even though it doesn’t show
because of those  pretend happy  armors we put on.

Here’s 3 things I know for sure:

You are like a bottle of the most exquisite champagne. Charming, savvy, smart, sparkly, mesmerizing.

Yet you keep yourself all bottled up, working hard to do the right, reasonable, logical thing. So that no-one can ever judge, disapprove or reject you.

But living a failure-free, comment-proof life is a myth. No-one can pull that off. And trying to do so is just plain exhausting + draining.

Want what you want. Do what you do. Need what you need. Like what you like. Regardless of what they might say.

Because a full life + genuine connection don’t come from pretending to be someone you are not. They come from being who you are – unapologetically.

Give it a go – and you’ll be wondering why you haven’t done so a long time ago.

From the outside, things are looking great. But on the inside you secretly feel lost, sad + alone,

somehow stuck in a life that looked promising but feels deflating.

You tried working harder, being flawlessly perfect, doing what you’re supposed to be doing – only to find yourself stuck + not knowing what to do next. (And those are the moments you start believing there must be something wrong with you.)

But there’s nothing wrong with you. It’s just that you’ve been applying tactics that don’t work for you.

You are one-of-a-kind.  You’ve got so much to share with the world.

It’s time to let it all out.

You are your harshest critic. It’s never just right. Somehow you find yourself always falling short.

But the truth is – you are so much more than you give yourself credit for.

So much talent. Such a unique voice.

So much ideas. Such a one-of-a-kind style.

It’s time to stop hiding + keeping yourself small for no reason.

You got this. And we need your work to make this world a better place.

(I know – cheesy, but oh so true!)

Your dreams, hopes + desires
matter as much as theirs.

Life’s too short to live out their expectations
– and then only someday get to yours.

What you want matters.

So make it happen – one small step at a time.

Not someday, but now.

Because you deserve a life you love.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

~ Anais Nin

Our job in this life is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be,
but to find out who we already are and become it.
